Sol is a Ph.D. student advised by Prof. Sri Kurniawan (UCSC CM) and mentored by incoming Prof. Jas Brooks (MIT CSAIL) focusing on multisensory engineering and sensory accessibility. She previously studied at CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center under the mentorship of Prof. Jessica Hammer and holds dual B.S. degrees in Food and Nutrition and Information and Interaction Design at Yonsei University.

Her interdisciplinary research explores the intersection of hedonic design, motivational interfaces, and flavor science. She enjoys extending scientific and computational theories into everyday objects.

Before academia, Sol was a biotech skincare developer β€” and her food-inspired works have been showcased at a major cosmetic conference.
